MOON MUSIC STUDIO A
Our 80m2 liveroom, with mostly wood surfaces and 4m heigh ceiling, has the perfect acoustics to fit a wide variety of genres. Specifically built for recording drums and small ensembles, this room is made to bring out all the detail of your acoustic instruments. With movable absorbing panels and room mics to play with, you have full control over the sounds you want, and go anywhere from super dead- to large and roomy sounding recordings. Need more isolation? We have an iso- booth suitable for vocals, upright bass, or guitar.
Our grand piano is a Gotrian-Steinweg from 1865, which has just been fully restored with brand new Steinway hammers. The sound is dark and warm and has a nice vintage feel to it. This historic instrument is perfect for jazz recording and can be heard on many of our productons. For upright duties we have a beautiful old Hiller piano, which has lots of character and sounds especially beautiful when played with felt over the strings. Other keys include our C3 Hammond with Leslie, Wurlitzer 200A, Rhodes 73 and an original Minimoog.
CONTROLE ROOM
The controlroom is equipped with all the analog classics you can wish for! Some highlights include our EMT plates, LA-2a compressor, and Studer A800 tape machine. For preamps we have a total of 40 units, consisting of Neve’s, API’s, Siemens and SPL channels. Monitoring consists of PSI A-25M and PMC IB-1 speakers, which give you a natural and highly detailed sound.
Our hybrid setup ensures easy connectivity and makes for a modern workflow combined with all the vintage outboard gear, making it easy to record the reverbs compressors in parallel. It is even possible to track 24 channels of tape in parallel. With 48 I/o of SPL Madison conversion and a 24 channel SPL Neos mixer/monitor controller you have all the flexibility you need. Artist playback is handled by a 16channel Powerplay system, with 8 mixers available.
When booking the studio without an engineer, it is possible to bring your own computer, and connect directly to our whole system with 1 USB cable. The I/O is kept simple and effective so you have full control over everything.

Studio B: The Moon
Studio B is our production and mix room, and is suitable for smaller and more dry sounding recordings. The room was renovated in 2024 by Audioworkx, resulting in fantastic and nearly flat acoustics. Combined with the PSI A-23M and NS-10M monitoring this makes for a beautiful mix and mastering room. The room was designed with the purpose of production in mind, giving the opportunity to work with the artist in the same room and record vocals, upright piano, guitars or synthesizers.

Studio C: Studer Room
Studio C is a mix room and doubles as the controlroom for studio C. Also renovated by Audioworkx acoustics, the room now has a modern feel and great sound to it. The vintage Studer 904 gives you 32 channels of analoge goodness with great clean sounding low noise preamps and beautiful EQ’s. The desk can be used for recording instruments in studio B, or just for running up to 16 tracks through it for stem mixing.

Studio: MAP (Utrecht)
We are Moon Audio Productions a brand new recording studio at the Berlijnplein Utrecht. Ivo Schot and Wouter Bude started MAP in 2022. We focus on recording and supporting artist and song writers.
