Pocket Knife Army recorded their debut album at Moon Music Studios in 2014 and 2015, followed by a live session of three songs in 2015.
Pocket Knife Army is Desirée Coumans and Erwin Tuijl from Utrecht. From 2014 to early 2015 they recorded their debut album This Time I'll Come Out Unharmed at Moon Music Studios, on a Studer A800 with API preamps and a Telefunken U47 for vocals. Wolf of Memphis was produced by Wouter Budé and mixed and mastered by Wessel Oltheten. In 2015 they recorded a live session of three songs, Grow Up, Let Go and Alone Again, filmed by Wouter van Uden and mixed by Erwin Tuijl. The video for 89 followed in 2016. Hailing from Utrecht, The Netherlands, Pocket Knife Army is the project of Desirée Coumans (vocals, looper, acoustic guitar) and Erwin Tuijl (synths and programming, electric guitar).
They’ve created a style of their own by combining expressive vocals with electronics, keeping clear focus on the live experience. Each song is a world on it’s own, with sometimes extreme shifts in dynamics. Their self-titled EP from 2014 captures this as well, from the blistering breakdown in ‘Cowboys’ and the moody techno of ‘Unharmed’ to the paranoia of ‘Wolf of Memphis’, the latter being accompanied by a rather unsettling video clip.
Pocket Knife Army sounds like the lovechild of Thom Yorke and Imogen Heap, with the members of Portishead as uncles and aunts. A debut album is to appear later this year.

Part 2/3!
Because Moon Music / Wouter Bude (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Moon-Music-Wouter-Bude/133166123390248)'s studio is a place where you can easily try new ideas and new things, we thought it would be fitting to make a live recording of a song that we've made after all the recordings for our album were done.
This one is called 'Let Go'.
Filmed and edited by Wouter van Uden - Who What Whale (https://www.facebook.com/WhoWhatWhale).
Enjoy!

The PolySix was a milestone because, along with the Roland Juno 6 which appeared almost simultaneously, in 1981 the PolySix was the first opportunity ordinary mortals had to get their hands on a proper programmable polysynth. Up until then, you had to be loaded to afford a Prophet 5, Oberheim OB-Xa, or Roland Jupiter 8.
At first glance it looks like a scaled-down Mono/Poly, but really it's not! In fact it had a lot of great new features such as 32 memory patches, 6 voices of polyphony, cassette backup of memory, even programmable modulation effects and Chorus, Phase, Ensemble!
The Polysix has warm-sounding real analog oscillators, softer and brassy-er sounding than the Juno. Engage the built-in Chorus on a simple single-oscillator sawtooth patch and you were pretty darned close to that expensive Prophet sound. But the big ace in the Polysix's hand was the Ensemble effect. Instant Mellotron-like strings.
Like the Mono/Poly the voices can be played in Unison for a 6-oscillator lead sound that was so big, it was often too big! The advanced arpeggiator can memorize and sequence chords across the keyboard. The PolySix has now been recreated in software as part of the Korg Legacy software bundle! The PolySix has been used by Eat Static, Geoff Downes, Astral Projection, Jimi Tenor, Global Communications, Kitaro, Robert Rich, Keith Emerson and Tears for Fears.
